The L22 limit controller delivers reliable over-temperature protection in a compact DIN-rail design that saves space while ensuring safety. Featuring high-speed 5Hz sampling and universal input, it detects abnormal process conditions in real time. Dual relay outputs offer flexible shutdown or alarm options. Intuitive Front Panel Operation

The L22 features a compact LED display showing process value, status, and unit. Four tactile keys provide fast access to parameter navigation, setpoint editing, and system setup. Status indicators include output activity, unit (°C/°F), and lock status. This layout ensures easy, error-free operation even in low-light environments, and helps operators avoid accidental setting changes during production.

Universal Input for Process Signals

Accepts thermocouple, RTD, voltage and current

L22 accepts a wide range of input types including thermocouples (J, K, T, E, etc.), PT100 RTDs, and linear analog signals such as 0–60mV, 0–10V, and 4–20mA. Input type and range are easily selectable via the front keypad or PC software. This flexibility allows seamless integration with a wide range of process sensors in temperature, pressure, and flow control applications.

Flexible Output for Protection & Alarm  

Supports relay, SSR, Triac and analog retransmission

L22 provides two output channels configurable as limit control or alarms. Output types include relay, SSR drive (5V/14V), or Triac. Alarm 2 and analog retransmission are available as optional add-ons for enhanced functionality. With customizable alarm modes and reliable output switching, L22 ensures dependable shutdown or notification when limits are exceeded.

Programming Port for Easy Setup

Connects to PC software for cloning and configuration

L22 features a built-in Micro USB programming port designed for offline configuration, firmware updates, and automatic testing. With the use of BrainChild’s programming cable (CC98-1) and adapter (PA98-1), users can connect the device to a PC or ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) system for efficient pre-deployment setup. This port is not intended for use during regular operation and should only be connected when the unit is powered but not actively controlling a process.
